He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Bill" Hanse and Hazel Hanse (Edland); his sister Delores Hanse; his grandson Jacob Finley; his siblings-in-law, David Witham, Bonnie Witham and Claire Witham; and his nephew Mike Witham.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Witham; his children, Mark Hanse, Jolinda Finley (James) and Gina Vinz (Cory); his grandchildren, Amanda Kindt-Olivia (Adam), William, Haley Lutz-Macie (Bryce), Evan Finley (Brooke), Sydney Flipse, Kate Finley, Mason Hanse, Molly Hanse, Braven Hanse, Isaac Vinz and Emalee Vinz; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Witham, Alan Witham and Vicky Witham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
