He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry R. Ihnen and Alice Ihnen (Sikkink); his former wife Audrey Rang; his wife Sylvia Mae Stockwell (Reiners); his siblings, Harold, Marie, Bill, Nancy, Merle, Vernon, Berdell, Ronnie, Lloyd, LeRoy, Alice, Henry, John, Maggie, Dan, Raymond, Harm and Luverne; and his stepdaughter Sandra Knock.

He is survived by: his son Tim Ihnen; his stepchildren, Cheryl Gage (Harold), Linda Herther (Bruce), Richard Stockwell (Jeaneen McLaren) and Brandon; his stepson-in-law Arlon Knock; and his sister Darla Schneider (Lyle). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as host of other relatives and friends.
