She is survived by: her husband Boyd Thiel; her children, Taya Swanson (Jason Swanson) and Travis Thiel; her grandchildren, Caleb Swanson and Kylie Swanson; and her siblings, Jean Beckman, Fritz Hanig and Tony Hanig.
Her altruism extended to numerous public outreach programs and charities, with notable contributions to the Wall of the Fallen, commemorating those who lost their lives during the Vietnam War, and the erection of the Lady Dignity monument.
