He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Matter and Velma Matter (Burma); and his siblings, Carol, Vern and Janet.
He is survived by: his son Brent Matter of Vermillion; his wife Linda Matter of Cavour; and his siblings-in-law, Connie Matter of Wausau, Wisconsin and Larry Winkelman (Jean) of Watertown. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Iroquois, or Bensley-Rounds Post #280 Iroquois American Legion.
