He is survived by: his wife Gertie; his children, Art Den Hoed, Lorena Freis (Rick), John Den Hoed (Amanda Connolly), Twyla Nielsen and William Den Hoed; his grandchildren, Anna, Leah, Ashli, Joshua, Becky, Eric, Brandon, Chase, Rilynn, Jesse, Curtis, Chris, Kelsie, Taner and Tyler; his siblings, John Den Hoed, Aart Den Hoed (Sharon), Piet Den Hoed (Arlene), Arie Den Hoed, Len Den Hoed (Trudy), Abe Den Hoed (Shirley), Walter Den Hoed (Lavonne), Mina Sly, Maria Teunissen (Andy) and Trudy Carstens (Rich); and his in-laws, Cornie Schelling (Esther), Albert Schelling (Sadie) and Harold Schelling (Willie).
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (403 N Main St, Canton, SD 57013). A memorial service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Canton United Methodist Church.
