He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Lems and Emma Lems (Cannegieter); his son Guy Richard Lems; his great grandchild Jordan Jennings; and his siblings, Grace Dykstra, Marguerite Moen, Donna Whitcomb, John and Bert Lems.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Patterson; his children, Jeff Lems (Mindy) of Springfield, MO, Dave Lems (Erin) of Spearfish, SD and Angie Jennings (David) of Canton, SD; his grandchildren, Bridgett Moree (Josh), Tanya Evens (Derrick), Jonathan Lems (Britney), Dakota Lems, Ciara Hoogendoorn (Micah), Colton Hage, Madison Hage, Mya Hage, Kristen Jennings and Brian Jennings; and his siblings, Paul Lems (Jan), Clarence Lems (Alice), Gerald Lems (Cheryl), Emma DeJong, Hilda Krommendyke (Berwyn) and Ruth Oldenkamp (Chuck). He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
