It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Galyn Oakland (Canton, South Dakota), who passed away on June 3, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Oakland and Opal Oakland (Davis); his brothers, Larry Oakland and Dennis Oakland; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Peter, Phyllis Oakland and Skipper Oakland.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Aurit; his children, Darin Oakland (Sara), Shelly Zittlau (Kirk) and Gail Herting (Tony); his grandchildren, Tanner, Tyler, Jack Zittlau, Austin, Avery, Ashlyn Herting, Brayden, Brynn and Bennett Oakland; his siblings, Warren Oakland (Karen), Lyle Oakland (Sandy) and Marlys Peter; his aunt Mary Betz; and his brothers-in-law, Jeff Aurit (Linda) and David Aurit. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
