She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Broughton and Phyllis Broughton (DeWitt); her daughter Michele Pesicka; and her siblings, Julie Wiekeraad (Lon) and Cal Broughton.
She is survived by: her children, Shannon Walls (Jeff) and Derek Hitzemann (Stacia); her grandchildren, Trent Pesicka (Nicky), Lisa Noel (Christopher), Zachrey Walls (Jaylyn), Bryce Walls, Madisyn Walls, Olivia Walls and Egan Hitzemann; her great grandchildren, Bayleigh, Berkley, Zoey, Saylor and Juniper; her son-in-law Tim Pesicka; and her siblings, Adam Broughton III (Moni), Les Broughton (Shirley), Steve Broughton (Dena), Eli Broughton and Patty Mulder (Kent). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home (403 N Main St, Canton, SD 57013). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Canton United Methodist Church.
Dottie Hitzemann, age 69, died Friday, December 20, 2024 surrounded by her family at Sanford Foundation Centennial Cottage in Sioux Falls, SD.
