He is survived by: his wife Linda Ness of Canton, SD; his children, Shane Van Bockern (Nikki) of Lake Preston, SD and Jill Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Cole Van Bockern, Kimberly Schriever (Bailey) and Kelsey Johnson; and his siblings, Deb Freeman (Scott) and Trent Van Bockern (Mary).
