With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leon Robert Snay of Canistota, South Dakota, born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2025 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, LeRoy and Ethel; his brother Rock; his brother-in-law William; and his in-laws, Fudder and Norma Moser.
He is survived by: his daughters, Paula Elaine Thingelstad (Snay) and Penny Jo Snay; his wife Linda Snay (Moser); his daughter Natisha Lanteri (Bill); his grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Kassidy (Casper), Kaden (Keira), Kolton, Kanon, Kendalynn, Chase, Chandler, Jonathan, Joslynn, Brandon and Madison; his great grandchildren, Jaxon and Baylor; his sisters, Karen Gilbee (Leon), Starlet Gilbee (Earl), Martha Snay and Patricia Milliken; and his in-laws, Cindy Bowar, Larry Moser (Shirldene), Eugene, Lawrence (Shannon) and Barbie Weyand (Perkins). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 10:15 AM and at 11:00 AM at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery (25965 477th Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104).
