With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Leroy Johnson of Burke, South Dakota, who passed away on November 14, 2021 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Johnson and Olive Johnson (Fish); his siblings, Leslie Johnson, Millie (Johnnie Osnes), Almon (Floy Johnson), Harold Johnson, Marjorie (Calvin Swift), Luella (Walt Frey), Irene (Pat Pine) and Bob Johnson; and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Swift and Russell Carey.
He is survived by: his spouse Vyrle Swift; his children, Sharon Cooper (Robert) of Rapid City, SD, Jerry (Brenda) of New London, MN, Myron (Carol) of Burke, SD, Jim (Diane) of Brandon, SD and Steve (Karla) of Burke, SD; and his sisters-in-law, Mildred Johnson, Verlene Swift, Delores Carey and Luella Christensen (Ivan). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
