He is survived by: his wife Mary Bruns of Lake Norden, SD; his daughters, Jodi McDowell (Brad) of Volga, SD and Lisa Bruns of Beaver Creek, MN; his grandsons, Casey, Dylan McDowell and Riley Bruns; and his siblings, Wendell Bruns (Alice) of Watertown, SD, Rick Bruns (Cindy) of Bradley, SD and Dorthy McDowell (Danny) of Billings, MT. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
