It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne F. Hillestad of Brookings, South Dakota, who passed away on June 4, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hillestad and Frances Hillestad (Grimlie); his sons, Kip Hillestad and Jon Tutsch; his brother Jim Hillestad; his brothers-in-law, Jim Nelson and Jerry Lei; his nephew Duane Lei; and his parents-in-law, Norman and Ellen Aanenson.
He is survived by: his child Tregg (Jodi) of Brookings, SD; his wife Shar Hillestad of Brookings, SD; his children, Randy Hillestad (Christy) of Brookings, SD, Tristy Hillestad of Denver, CO, Rikki Anselm (Marv) of Robins, IA and Tawna Nash (Doug) of Brookings, SD; his grandchildren, Becky Johnson (Clif), Jon Hillestad, Justin Rudebusch, Rylan Rudebusch, Paige Rudebusch (Kristy) of Aaron Rudebusch, CJ, Shad Hillestad, Ben Smith, Destry Hillestad and Tianna Hillestad; his great grandchildren, Eloise Hillestad and Abigail Hillestad; his sister Fern Olson (Doug); and his parents-in-law, Barb Hillestad, Jane Nelson, Jean Hoven (Neil), Robert Aanenson (Kaylene) and Marlene Kopp (Tom). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
