It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Lien (Brookings, South Dakota), born in Winner, South Dakota, who passed away on August 23, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Lien and Roma Lien (Terca); his son Reed; his brother Jim; his sister-in-law Judith Lien; his aunt Jo Ohlson (Steve); his sister-in-law Vickie Harter; and his in-laws, Ralph and Shirley Winter.
He is survived by: his wife Valarie Winter; his daughter Jamie Halvorson (Matt); his granddaughters, Hazel and Lola; his brother Dennis Lien (Cindy); his siblings-in-law, Sandra Lien and Lonny Harter; his nieces, Jennifer Lien-Gonzalez, Lisa Lien-Mager and Amy Bessette; and his nephew Eric Harter.
