It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Wilbur Bartling of Brookings, South Dakota, who passed away on February 24, 2024, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl R. Bartling and Daisy Bartling (Lawrence); his wife Katherine Jean Taylor; and his siblings, Margaret, Caroline, George and Lorne.
He is survived by: his children, Jane Christensen (John) of Haskell, OK and Dave Bartling (Judy) of Brookings; his brother Herb Bartling of Vancouver, Washington; his grandchildren, Joann Kibbey (Scott), Kathryn Koeten (Boris) and Ben Bartling; and his stepgrandchildren, Tammy Gauger (Burdell) and Rick Willemssen (Carrie). He is also survived by six step great-grandchildren; and three step great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in memory of Jean Bartling.
