He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Ofstedal and Mabel Ofstedal (Strand); his wife Sylvia; his sisters, Marion Matson (Bud) and Sylvia Durheim (Bud); and his brother-in-law Lyle Swedlund.
He is survived by: his children, Peter Ofstedal (Pat) of Breese, IL, Marc Ofstedal (Lisa) of Ballwin, MO and Mary Beth Ofstedal (Mick Couper) of Ann Arbor, MI; his grandchildren, Kristin Fonseca, Alexandra Bauer, Blake Ofstedal and Emily Mertens (Brett); his great grandchild Oliver Fonseca; his sister Ruth Swedlund; and his brother-in-law Dean Melland (Anna). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to Ascension Lutheran Church, Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity, the Boys & Girls Club of Brookings, or a charity of your choice in Ray's name.
