She was predeceased by: her parents, Ward Garten and Florence Garten (Heinen); and her husband Dan. She is survived by: her sons, Dan (Barbara) of Spearfish, SD, David (Teresa) of Deadwood, SD and Dick (Theanne) of Brookings; and her granddaughters, Michelle McManus of North Carolina, Brooke Baeth of Minnesota and Danielle Cruise of Wisconsin. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Brookings Regional Humane Society.
