John F. Colson Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John F. Colson of Brookings, South Dakota, who passed away on February 10, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Louis Mark Colson and Frances Colson (Hogan); his children, David Colson (Liz) of Kalamazoo, MI, Peter Colson (Nancy Kristofferson) of Brookings, SD, Scott Colson (Sarah Merrill) of Alexandria, VA and Elizabeth Utterson (Eric) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Grace, Max, Mika, Maggie, Henry, Rose and George; his sister-in-law Sue Grace (Michael) of Colorado Springs, CO.; his wife Nancy Colson; and his sisters, Janet and Marylou Tripolino (Jack) of Waverly, IA. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given in John's name to the South Dakota State University Music Department.
