He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Schoon and Bertina Schoon (Borstad); his children, Jon Schoon (Laurie) of Brookings, SD and Jodi Kabris (Curt) of Brookings; his grandchildren, Jacob, Jenna Schoon, Colby and Abby Kabris; and his sister Betty Hillerud of Brookings. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
