He is survived by: his wife Beth Skovlund; his children, Jennifer Meghan Bortnem-Risty (Eric) of Estelline, SD and Travis Lee Bortnem (Rebecca Schrag) of Brookings, SD; his grandchildren, Melissa, Aislynn, Tyjion, Simon, Gabriel, Freyja and Roland; his great grandchild Joshua; his sister Joan Clarke (Dennis) of Pierre, SD.; his aunts, Laurine Yates and Fern Cofield; and his siblings-in-law, Connie Karl (David) and Marvin Skovlund. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
