It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald E. Bergum of Brookings, South Dakota, born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, who passed away on January 17, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Bergum and Emma Bergum (Meyer); his brother Andrew Bergum; his children, William and Patricia Solsaa; and his son-in-law Donald Myer.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Short; his children, Gerald Jr. (Sharleen) of Sturgis, SD, Keith (Brenda) of Sioux Falls, Philip of Sioux Falls, SD, Barbara Myers of Sioux Fall, SD, Roxane Snow (Evan) of Brookings, Jennifer Klingbile (Larry) of Brookings, Faith Bradley (Robert) of Sioux Falls, SD and Emma Bergum of Shokopee, MN.; his children-in-law, Patrick Solsaa of Aurora, SD and Antonia Bergum; and his brother Ronald Bergum (Angie). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
