It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary Robert Sackmann of Brookings, South Dakota, born in Medford, Wisconsin, who passed away on February 15, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Anton Sackmann and Lillian Joyce Sackmann; his siblings, Glen, Nancy, Ray, Jess and Peggy; his wife Susan Rae Nelson of Bruce, WI.; his parents-in-law, Gilbert and Elsie; his children, Tanya, Daryl (Melany), Michael (Jolyn) and John (Sara); his grandchildren, Brayden, Cayle, Hannah, Ronan, Nolan and Raven; and his grandfather Gary.
Due to COVID restrictions, those family and friends joining us for the visitation will be required to wear masks for the gathering.
We ask that any memorial donations be directed to Brookings American Legion Post 74.
