He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Kruse and Anna Kruse (Fischer); his children, Robert Dwayne and Crystal Hallada; his siblings, Kathryn Tuttle (Eugene) and Merwyne Kruse; and his sister-in-law Esther Kruse.
He is survived by: his wife Eloise Kruse; his children, Allen Kruse of Brookings and Coral DeFord (Doug) of Indianola, IA; his son-in-law Tim Hallada of Brooklyn Park, MN; his sister-in-law Velda Spanek (Kruse) of Springfield, MO; and his siblings, Ramona Kruse of Lincoln, NE, Verna Hicks (David) of White, SD and Ron Kruse (Camille) of Brookings. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew.
