She was predeceased by: her parents, Hessel Houtman and Charlotte Houtman (VandenBerg); her husbands, Richard Vostad (Dick) and Elmer Weisser (Bud); her siblings, Gerald Houtman, Wilbur Houtman, Charles Houtman, Alice Doop, Lorraine Lengkeek, Hester Jennings and David Leroy Houtman; and her grandchildren, Anika Faye Vostad and Christopher Sims.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Vostad (Dee) of Volga, Dee Josephsen (Dale) of Arlington, Doreen Sims (Steve) of Waubay, Craig Vostad (Rhonda) of Brookings and Kevin Vostad (Ann) of Volga; her stepdaughters, Antoinette Stadler of Northfield, MN and Mary Holtzman (Greg) of Edina, MN; and her sister-in-law Karen Houtman of Canby, MN. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church-Volga (623 Kasan Ave, Volga, SD 57071). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
