It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Jean Kratochvil of Brookings, South Dakota, born in Plymouth, Iowa, who passed away on September 30, 2020, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edith Baldwin (Ceilley) and John Baldwin; her husband Don Kratochvil; her stepfather Rollo Baker; her sister Judy; her stepsiblings, Jack, Slade and Barbara; and her sister Alice Jolink (Scott).
She is survived by: her children, Lee Kratochvil of Brookings, SD, Mark Kratochvil (Patty) of Brookings, SD, Paul Kratochvil (Doris) of Pueblo, CO and Ann Holzhauser (Mike) of Pierre, SD; and her sister Margaret Kooiman (Scott). She is also survived by six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, and a special cousin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Donald and Dorothy Kratochvil Scholarship at SDSU (c/o the SDSU Foundation) or to St..Paul's Episcopal Church in Brookings.
