He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Nelson and Edna Nelson (Bower); his son Darrell; his wife Doris Atkins; his son-in-law Kenneth Coleman; and his siblings, Alvin, Mildred and Beulah.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Nelson (Carol), Darlis Coleman and Todd Nelson (Cheryl); his daughter-in-law Darleen Nelson; his cousins, Darrell and Todd; and also, Toni Hill of Arizona and Todd, I. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
