With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cordell Elmer Costar of Brookings, South Dakota, born in Hawarden, Iowa, who passed away on December 18, 2023 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Costar and Christine Helena Fiedler Costar; and his sister Joyce Rainer. He is survived by: his wife Judy Costar (Klingbile); his children, Vicki McCrea (Don) and Scot Costar (Coleen); his sisters, Shirley DeWhitt and Audrey Wilson (Lloyd); and his grandchildren, Kris (Jen), Emily, Jenna, Cordell and Deanna. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
