He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tom and Alma Tom (Gunderson); his girlfriend Betty North; and his siblings, Jerry Tom, Carmen Tom, Reuben Tom, Alex Tom, Ivan Tom, Marion Mydland and Darlene Selle.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Brandt of Milwaukee, WI, Jessica Tom of Sioux Falls, SD and Aaron Tom of Koloa, HI; his girlfriend's sons, Raymond Stransky Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD, Louis Stransky of Mitchell, SD, Fred Stransky of Loomis, SD and Burt Stransky of Mitchell, SD; and his siblings, Roger "Willy" Tom of Britton, SD and Judy "Cookie" Ewings of Britton, SD. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
