He was predeceased by: his parents, John Frey and Mabel Frey (Hupke) of Amherst; his brother Neil Frey; his siblings-in-law, Mavis Nikolas, George Nikolas, Morris Spencer and Chuck Anderson; and his nephew Gary Spencer.
He is survived by: his daughter Susan Karels (Mike Frey); his grandchildren, Colin Frey of Claremont and Hope Karels of Milbank; his wife Janet Frey; his son Mike Frey (Sara) of Claremont; his grandsons, Dylan and William; his siblings, Marilyn "Kay" Bunn (Rollie) of Elkhart, Indiana and Dennis Frey (Rhonda) of Howard Lake, Minnesota; and his sisters-in-law, Claudia Frey of Vermillion, Virginia Spencer of Elk River, Minnesota and Connie Anderson of Aberdeen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
