He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Herr and Augusta Herr (Nolte); his wife Virginia Clausen; his daughter Linda; his grandsons, Mark Halvorsen and Matthew Forsting; and his sisters, Edna Jensen, Eleanore Whitmyre and Irene Whitmyre.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley Halvorsen (Paul) of Webster, SD, Larry Herr (Judy) of Bristol, SD, Gloria Forsting (Morris) of Sioux Falls, SD, Gayle Horter (Steve) of Andover, SD, Michael Herr (Tammie) of Bristol, SD and Kathryn Schmieg (Shayne) of Andover, SD. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the FIKSDAL FUNERAL SERVICE (122 W 5th Ave, Webster, SD 57274). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, February 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fiksdal Funeral Service (122 W 5th Ave, Webster, SD 57274).
