He is survived by: his wife Susan Gruba; his children, Rob Harty, Chad Harty (Angie), Josh Harty (Jessica), Paul Harty (Bryanna), Tarah Kroll (David) and Aaliyah Harty; his foster daughter Hurizon Davila; his siblings, Roger Harty and Mary Ann Sherman; and his close friend Gordon.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Ken's honor to the Day County Veterans Services.
