He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Schmid and Dorothy Schmid; his wife Norma Heisler; his brother Roger; and his grandson Corey.
He is survived by: his children, Rick Schmid (Connie), Jim Schmid (Sarah), Brian Taliesin (Karen) and Susan Thacker (Glenn); and his brothers, Larry Schmid (Ann), North and David Schmid (Donna). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to Memorial Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
