He was predeceased by: his parents, E. O. Severson (Arne) and Olga Severson; his wife Shirley; and his siblings, Edith, Edna, Millie, Betty, Lollie, Norma, Myron, Howard, Norman and Russell.
He is survived by: his children, Julie, John and Jill; his grandchildren, Steve, Mike Dueis (Letaila), Stuart, Thomas Ticknor, Taylor Rames, Tiana, Dakota and Dylan Severson; his stepgranddaughter Lindsey; his great grandchild Kayleigh Dueis; and his stepgreat-granddaughters, Jaz, Ali and Lexi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
