He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sundem and Elise Sundem (Lien); his wife LaVane Sundem; his son H. Wayne Sundem; his sister Doris Dooyema; and his siblings-in-law, Floyd Steenstra, Dewey Dooyema, Daryl Stoltenberg, Dale Stoltenberg, Delbert Stoltenberg, Delmar Stoltenberg, Dean Stoltenberg, Marianne Stoltenberg, Georgine Stoltenberg and Carol Sundem.
He is survived by: his daughter Deb Sundem of Watertown, SD; his granddaughter Kari Allen (Brian) of Edina, MN; his great grandchild Christopher Allen of Edina; his siblings, Richard Sundem of Sioux Falls, SD, Mary Steenstra of Pipestone, MN and Orval Sundem (Bonnie) of Hills, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Marcie Stoltenberg of Brandon, SD and Florence Stoltenberg of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be directed to the Palisades Cemetery Association and the Henry G. Fix American Legion Post 23.
