He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Schaefer and Cecelia Schaefer (Hoesing). He is survived by: his former wife Arlene Aasby; his wife Lorraine; his children, Rodney Schaefer (Susan), Cathy Peitz (Jim), James Schaefer (Gail), Karen Swenson (Greg), Jill Schaefer (Venice), Holly Norgaard (Jim) and Kevin Schaefer (Linda); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Caitlin, Addie, Faith, Clint, Lindsay, Cody, Erin, Haley, Blake, Tia, Cassidy, Carson, Madison and Regan; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Thomas, Ian, Elaina, Tyler, Alissa, Cadence, Bryn, Trace, El'Cee, Raimee and Zane; his stepchildren, Brenda Furaus (Dan), Sheila Kellor (Dave), Dan Mack (Cheryl) and David Mack (Lisa); and his son-in-law Stan Buxa. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
