He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Stuart Hepler and Zola Hepler (Reed); his wife Claudia Hepler; his daughter Megan Van Sloten (Jerrid); his grandchildren, Annabelle, Jerrid Jr., Madilynn and Emilee; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Hepler and Karen Dant; his brothers, Ted Hepler and Terry Hepler; his grandparents, Stuart, Lena Hepler, Burton and Alma Reed; and his parents-in-law, Walter "Sonny" and Lois Anderson (Gipple). He was also cherished by numerous nephews and nieces.
