He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Standish and Effie Standish (Spoelstra); his son Rick Standish; and his siblings, Donald Standish (Irene) and Delores Totman (Earl).
He is survived by: his wife Lois Rasmussen; his children, Tom Standish (Maridell) of Sioux City, IA, Kim Runia (Paul), Brandon, Lori Cole (Dana) and Brian Standish (Tracy); his daughter-in-law Cathy Standish; his grandchildren, Jennifer Standish, Jack Standish, Caitlynn Runia, Caden Runia, Hunter Cole, Tanner Cole, Elizabeth Cole, Katelyn Morehouse (Mason Thomas) and William Winstead; his great grandchild Finn Thomas; and his brother Richard Standish (Dehlia) of Whittier, CA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to Faith United Church or the Brandon Volunteer Fire Department, in Gene's memory.
