She was predeceased by: her parents, Steve Adams and Dora Adams (Gukeisen); her husband Charles Vanderberg; and her sister Alice Lehrkamp. She is survived by: her father-in-law Eugene Hoffman; her children, Dorothy, Robert Hoffmann of San Diego, CA, Kevin Hoffmann of Brandon, SD and Stephanie Van Der (Ronald); and her siblings, Joyce Loof (Keith) of Hartford, SD, LeRoy Adams (Susan) of Ethan, SD and William Adams (Dottie) of Ethan, SD..

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
