He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe E. Hofer and Erna Hofer (Gross); his wife Marilyn; his brother Larry Hofer; his stepmother Agnes Stern-Hofer; his parents-in-law, Mike and Mary Glanzer; and his brother-in-law Herb Glanzer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Baty (Harold) of Shoreview, MN and Stacy Nelson (Phil) of Sioux Falls, SD; his granddaughters, Riley and Halle Nelson of Sioux Falls, SD; his sisters-in-law, Brigitta Hofer of Bridgewater, SD and Edwina Glanzer of Rolesville, NC; his nieces, Kelly Hefti (Brian) of Sioux Falls, SD, Stephanie Burgeson (Michael) of Yankton, SD, Robin Jaspers (Mike) of Sioux Falls, SD and Kristi Jezek (Ray) of Rolesville, NC; and his nephew Mike Glanzer (Sandy). He is also survived by several cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nephews.
