She is survived by: her parents, Katherina Naasz (Diede) and Ludwig Naasz; her friend Lawrence; her spouse Alvin Schmierer; her children, Joel Schmierer (Shelly) of Johnson Siding, SD, Karen Klein (Dan) of Sioux City and Monica Palsma (Byron) of Dakota City, NE; and her siblings, Chester Naasz of Moorhead, MN, Lauretta Opp of Pierre, SD and Martha Berndt of Herreid. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
