He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Mitzel (Zerr) and Frank Mitzel. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Geier; his children, Jerry Mitzel (Barb), Ron Mitzel (Marlene) of Rapid City, Richard Mitzel (Susan) of Bowdle, Frank Mitzel (Teresa) of Houston, TX and Mary Fischer (Victor) of Bowdle; and his daughter-in-law Joan Mitzel of Rochester. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild.
