He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Ulrich and Eleanora Ulrich (Bottolfson); his wife Donna; and his brother Carl Ulrich. He is survived by: his children, Marian Caldwell (Dana) of Lincoln, CA, Cathy Henschel (Bob) of Webster, ND, Mark Ulrich (Wendy) and Charles Ulrich (Kristi) of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Angela Noordam (Eric), Brian Nowakowski (Cherylyn), Dena Armstrong (Cody), Bobbie Jo Mertens (Lucas), Katie Hubbard (Justin), Daniel Ulrich, Nicholas Ulrich (April) and Sydney Ulrich of Wyatt Ulrich; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Makayla, Breeana Noordam, Lela Nowakowski, Addison Armstrong, Porter, Nora Mertens, Kiara, Aunna Ulrich and Henry Ulrich; his siblings, Ralph Ulrich (Gloria) of Oregon and Carol Johnson (Gary) of Fargo; his brother-in-law Carol Ulrich of Minneapolis, MN; and his close friend Dean Hovern. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
