She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Dangel and Lena Dangel (Goettertz); her husband Mathew Birgen; her sister Jeannette Dangel Schramm; her brother-in-law Willard Schramm; and her brother Jerry Dangel.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law Loretta Dangel (Jerry) of Turkey Ridge, SD; her children, Ken Birgen (Cindy) of Lafayette, CO, Connie Birgen, Chuck Birgen of Cozad, NE, Carolee Kapperman (Dennis), Larry Birgen (Kathy), Deb Birgen and Mary LeMieux (Alex) of Clancy, MT; and her grandchildren, Julia Birgen, Taylor Birgen, Nick Kapperman (Crystal), David Kapperman (Heather), Michael Kapperman, Dan Kapperman (Rachael), Lindsey Markhardt (Drew), Tyler Birgen (Savannah Sievers), Miranda Reddig (Tanner), Kaitlin LeMieux and Laura Carrell (Joe). She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Teresa's Building Fund, St. Teresa Catholic Daughters, St. John Cemetery (Beresford), or Beresford Senior Citizens Center.
