He is survived by: his wife Maureen Dangel of Beresford, SD; his children, Ken Birgen (Cindy) of Lafayette, CO, Connie Birgen, Chuck Birgen, Carolee Kapperman (Dennis), Larry Birgen (Kathy), Deb Birgen and Mary LeMieux (Alex); his grandchildren, Julia Birgen, Taylor Birgen, Nick Kapperman (Crystal) and David Kapperman (Heather); and his children, Michael Kapperman, Dan Kapperman (Rachael), Lindsey Markhardt (Drew), Tyler Birgen, Miranda LeMieux (Tanner), Kaitlin LeMieux and Laura LeMieux. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
