Franklin D. Kumm Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Franklin D. Kumm of Beresford, South Dakota, who passed away on December 28, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his children, Jeffery Kumm and Andrea Kumm; his brothers-in-law, Larry Olson (Joyce), Charles Olson and Merle Lundberg; his mother Eva Hansen; his stepfather Mike Hansen; and his in-laws, Chester and Avis Olson.
He is survived by: his wife Marabeth Kumm of Beresford; his daughter JoAnn Taylor (Tom) of Vermillion; his grandchildren, James Taylor (Sara) and Stephanie Melancon (Steven); his great grandchildren, Gabe, Issac Taylor, Emmie, Weston and Lucas Melancon; his siblings, Bob Larson (Cheryl Arends), Jim Hansen (Evelyn) and Judy Lundberg; his brother-in-law Curtis Olson (Lynda); and his close friends, Donna Austin, Brendyn, Isaiah Richards and Witt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wass Funeral Home (301 N 3rd St, Beresford, SD 57004). A prayer was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Dalesburg Lutheran Church (30595 University Rd, Vermillion, SD 57069).
