He was predeceased by: his mother Sharon Akland (Loken); and his brother Joseph Akland. He is survived by: his father Wayne Akland (Sharon); his wife Brittney; his siblings, Jesse Akland (Jean) of Beresford and Kristi Petersen (Ivan) of Tyler, MN; his nieces and nephews, Tara, Seth, Harper Petersen and Loken Akland; his mother-in-law Julie Duerfeldt (Bob) of Gregory, SD; his siblings-in-law, Dan Furness (Kait Foster) of Rapid City and Bridgett Schweigert of Gregory; and his pet Whitey.
