He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lydia Chaplin (Fritschle) and Stanley Chaplin; his wife Barbara Chaplin; his son Neal Chaplin; his granddaughters, Heather Chaplin and Vanessa Wells; and his siblings, Glen Chaplin, Myrl Chaplin and Esther Peck.
He is survived by: his son Mark Chaplin (Ruth) of Belle Fourche; his granddaughter Danielle Chaplin of Lawrenceville, IL; his great grandchildren, Kylar Worstell and Delilah Wells of Lawrenceville, IL; his brother-in-law Paul Ulrich (Phyllis) of Olney, IL; his daughter-in-law Roxana Cessna (Delvin) of Lawrenceville, IL; and his sister Louise Shearer of Vincennes, IN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage people to give to veterans in need.
