She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hay and Grace Hay; and her sisters, Laura Heyden Peterson, Caroline Sines, Blanche Lesmesiter, Gracie Gutman and Melvia Gordon.
She is survived by: her spouse Dean Hix; her sister Wilda Hollinger of Burley, ID; and her daughter Deloris Weyer of Belle Fourche. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that you send cards as Gertrude was always making sure she had a card for everyone.
