He was predeceased by: his parents, Clair Brodeen and Jocelyn Brodeen (Slater); his uncles, Marvin and Darrell Brodeen; and his aunt Lorraine Olson.

He is survived by: his wife Cathy Bartunek of Avon; his children, Slater and Samantha Brodeen of Avon; his siblings, Pam Uecker (Grant) of Mitchell, Leslie Bruzzese (Vincent) of Staten Island, NY, Nanci Timmins (Buck) of Mitchell, Rick, Peggy Hartung (Mark) of Dallas, TX, Barbara Lutmer (Randy) of Louisville, KY and Cynthia McBride (Brook) of Seattle, WA; his uncle Ken Brodeen (Pat) of San Antonio, TX; his aunt Carole Stevenson of Walterboro, SC; his mother-in-law Carol Wiechmann (John) of Yankton; and his sister-in-law Kay Mentzer (Mike) of Miller. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
