It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelly Rae Zajic of Astoria, South Dakota, who passed away on December 23, 2023, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Dorothy Simmons (Cooper); her former husband Duane Goettig; her stepson Kevin; her brother Lee; her son-in-law Patrick; and her pet Peanut.
She is survived by: her father Roger Simmons; her husband John Zajic; her children, Joanna Pate, Kristen Edmonds and Jarid Zajic; her stepson Chris Edmonds; her siblings, April Jewell (Dave), Casey and Josh (Flavia); her nieces, Pheobe and Kaiya; her grandchildren, Keith, Haylee, Talon, Felicity, Brayden and Jaxson; her close friend Shannon Abel; and her friend Brian Smidt (John). She is also survived by her many cousins and friends.
